Q:What is the Customs food risk inspection?
A:There are six levels of inspection to determine food risk, namely:
Level 1 (unconditional automatic release), automatic release of food goods.
Level 2 (Specific document check), the authorization officer at the entrance must check all relevant documents (HC/CoA/License) before granting permission.
Level 3 (risk-based surveillance), where mandatory inspections are carried out and food samples can be taken for laboratory analysis.
Level 4 (surveillance monitoring), inspection and sampling must be carried out. Release the goods after sampling.
Level 5 (retention, testing and release), inspection and sampling. The shipment was detained after sampling and released after the results of the analysis complied with the Food Act 1983 and the Food Regulations 1985.
Level 6 (automatic rejection), the system automatically rejects the relevant food consignment.
